Island ride screen print, edition of 20

Wednesday, July 28, 2010

Printing stalled this morning due to wacky spray job & a lack of penetrating light.

So aggravating when your screens are coated & dried all good n' ready to burn
and somehow you screw it up with dripping over-spray
and a film that isn't transparent enough.

Up next, take two!

Dirty old boat dress in New colors.
Sizes M-XL available!

NEw shirts printed for The Links of Hemlock Creek!

Urban Craft uprising was so much fun!
Thanks to everyone who came out and supported us this past weekend!

Friday, July 09, 2010

No more digging for shirts in bins, we made the perfect shelf for vending at fairs! Board ends slide into slots we cut in the milk crates. Milk crates stay firmly stacked together. Totally mobile and sturdy. Oh sweet sweet love. Ours backs will be happy.
See you at Urban Craft Uprising this weekend!

Slow Buckled!

We just got the first round of pewter belt buckles made from our molds this week!
You may remember how a loong time ago we posted the drawing (above photo) that we sent to the casting foundry in Seattle for the buckle design. Well, it's many months later and we have buckles in hand & are playing around with different drawings to laser and wood inlays.
This bike design is one of 8 or so drawings we're using for the first buckles.
It's just a sneak peek, there's much more to come.

Come see us and our shirts and our buckles
at the farmers market
in Anacortes tomorrow,
Sat July 3rd!
We'll be there 9 - 2pm.

& Happy fourthOjuly everybody!

The shop is a mess.

Correction.

My desk is a mess as usual.

The shop isn't so bad.

We're getting last minute shirts folded & taped & typed & hung today, getting ready for the Fremont fair this weekend. Did you know about the naked bike riders at noon on Saturday? Serious parade action people.
Come find us at our booth on North 34th street.
We'll be hanging out & slinging shirts from the tent with the red roof!
And big yellow banner! !

Went through a huge pile of originals today looking for a particular drawing and decided to scan some of the old ones i hadn't seen in awhile. I was looking for the Dracula pinball line, but instead could only find it printed on this board (above). It was probably the 5th or so drawing i ever printed under the name Slow Loris in 1997. At that time i cut all my rubylith foots (orange print) much bigger than the drawing itself so i could easily register it. They looked like big plastic stickers.

This my first drawing of the Theatre sign on highway 20. (2004?) Obviously neither of the T's had fallen yet. A year later it read HATR, and currently reads HAR.
Strangers with candy was in high DVD rotation in 2005. Might revisit that, been awhile.
ssneagle!
This eagle with a golden crown will always remain a ballpoint pen drawing.
It's just weird. 2006
Drew this for my mom when her book club was going to Lummi island. I don't remember why she needed it. 2003
The second of 2 shirt designs i drew for the band Tv on the Radio. 2005
Those guys are some of my most favorite music makers and people out there.

This is the view from my friend Nicole's front door when she lived on 3rd street in Anacortes, back in 2001. Robert Sund lived across the street and would read us his newest poems.
Jake Navarro lived next door and sang his newest songs. That bike i found at Kiwanis and it could fold in half.
I later ended up shrinking and cropping this drawing to make business cards.
That's why the rub on letters are at the bottom.
